Cindy Stella, M.S.
Director of Admissions and Student Financial Services
Cindy Stella brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education to the UNLV School of Medicine. She has a wealth of experience working with graduate degree recruitment, admissions, student services, and financial aid at the University of Arizona and the University of Colorado, along with undergraduate student degree programming, academic advising, and career development at Nevada State College.
Through her admissions role, Cindy collaborates with the UNLV School of Medicine Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the UNLV Pre-Professional Advising Center to help students put their best foot forward in the medical school application process. With her team, she also executes applicant interview days, Second Look programming, and advising for pre-medical students and re-applicants.
Cindy is also responsible for establishing and executing financial aid management, scholarship operations, and a customized financial literacy program for medical students that spans all phases of study and matriculation. Literacy programming will include workshops, handouts and materials, one-on-one counseling, and online education resources to give students the ability to develop healthy lifelong financial habits while inspiring and empowering them to make smart and ethical money management decisions.
Cindy serves as the lead coordinator for the UNLV School of Medicine’s Liaison Committee on Medical Education's accreditation process. She has successfully worked with executives and administration for the medical school's preliminary accreditation in 2015-2016, provisional accreditation in 2018-2019, and will oversee full accreditation activities in 2020-2021.
Cindy holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Business Administration from The University of Arizona, and a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications from West Virginia University.
