Biography
Cameron Coleman, Ed.D., is an assistant professor in residence in the Department of Teaching and Learning at UNLV. Before joining UNLV, she served in numerous roles in public, charter, and independent K-8 schools, including middle school math teacher, mentor teacher, Master Teacher, curriculum lead, and Diversity Council Chair. Inspired by her learning from and enjoyment of educational media, Cameron completed her Ed.D. at Loyola Marymount University, dissertating on the responses of African-American children and their parents to culturally concordant educational media. Her research interest focuses on the creation and impact of educational media that is culturally concordant with and revitalizing for ethnic minorities.
Outside of her teaching duties, she has served as the Principal Investigator of the Ready To Learn Initiative with Vegas PBS, and currently serves on the Founding Board of Citizens of the World Charter Schools - Las Vegas.
