Biography

Bryan Bernal works as the Learning Specialist providing support to all UNLV student-athletes. Bryan began working at UNLV in August of 2022 as a Disability Specialist for the Disability Resource Center. During his tenure at the DRC Bryan assisted students with documented disabilities obtain academic accommodations. Those academic accommodations allow students the ability and opportunity to gain equal access to their education, while removing barriers that prevent students with disabilities from being successful both in and outside of the classroom.
   

Bryan is no stranger to UNLV, he received his Masters Degree in Special Education through the ARL (Alternative Routes To Licensure Program) in 2016. During his time in the program Bryan was a substitute teacher in the Clark County School District teaching Transition, Learning Disabled and Autistic high schoolers. During this period of time Bryan also coached boys tackle football and girls flag football at Foothill HS. Bryan was the head boys tackle freshmen coach for Foothill and saw his young Falcons fly with a 6-2 record. Bryan was the JV head coach for the Lady Falcons flag football team as well, and led the program to a 13-2 record his first season and 12-3 record his sophomore campaign. Bryan also coached the Lady Patriots flag football team as the JV Head Coach for Liberty HS after accepting a teaching position in the special education department. Bryan has coached collegiate football as well as a student assistant while earning his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at Western State Colorado University. During his three years as a student assistant coach, Bryan position coached Defensive Backs and Linebackers, while also working in football operations breaking down game film and providing support where needed.
   
Bryan and his wife Kristin are both natives of Colorado and have lived in the Las Vegas Valley for 15 years. Their son Cameron is 7 and will start his football playing career playing flag football this fall. Bryan continues to coach as the Head Coach of his son's flag football team. Bryan is excited to be a part of the UNLV Athletics Team and is looking forward to helping students in all aspects of life from the classroom to the real world. “Once a Rebel, always a Rebel.
