Biography

Bailey Anderson makes work that spans painting, foundry, and fabric. Anderson’s work is generative of feminist discourse and is a critique of violent masculinity. In her recent research, Anderson has breached two-dimensional work to explore the semantics of material and practices of fabrication.

In community spaces, she generates room for discussions about gallery spaces, expectations of studio practice, and encourages failure, most proudly in a curational project OOPS! 2023. She also is one of the co-founders of the Desert Biennial Project, participating in its first iteration, Stone Soup.

Anderson graduated from Arizona State with her BFA in intermedia and BS in psychology. Her work has been shown in Arizona, Nevada, and Ohio. She is currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Las Vegas, Nevada.
