Biography
Ashley Colson, Ph.D., is the assistant director of clinical training (ADCT) for the PsyD in Clinical Psychology program. She is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP) who earned her Ph.D. in school psychology at UNLV. Her scholarship has focused on school mental health, collaborative care, teacher-student relationships, and early serious mental illness. Colson served as the clinical director of a coordinated specialty care program for youth and young adults at clinical high risk for psychosis through UNLV. In this role, she also provided psychotherapy, conducted psychological evaluations, and supervised graduate and undergraduate students within an interdisciplinary model of care.
Colson’s clinical and supervisory experience spans community mental health clinics, residential treatment centers, private practice, and educational settings. Colson has expertise in providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive services to children, adolescents, and their families. She is committed to health equity and has collaborated closely with systems in rural Nevada to expand telehealth assessment and intervention services for underserved youth. Colson is deeply invested in mentoring future psychologists to provide affirmative, evidence-based care to support the psychological well-being of the community while fostering professional identities grounded in ethics, collaboration, advocacy, and lifelong learning.
