Biography
Amber Benton (she/her), Ph.D., is a passionate educator and leader dedicated to supporting students while making higher education more inclusive and equitable. She currently serves as the Director of Exploring and Pre-Professional Advising Center.
Before that, she led diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts as the Associate Dean at University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business, Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance (SMTD) and as Assistant Dean at Michigan State University’s College of Natural Science.
Amber holds a Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University, an M.Ed. in educational leadership from UNLV, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Pacific University. When she’s not working to create more inclusive communities, you’ll probably find her doting on her fur kids or discovering the best new coffee spots.
