Biography
Margaret Harp is a professor of French. She earned her B.A. in French from Newcomb College, and her M.A. in French and Ph.D. in French from Tulane University. She teaches courses on French literature, culture, and language. She has published a monograph, The Portrayal of Community in Rabelais's Quart Livre (Peter Lang, 1997), a book-length translation, Jacques Yver's Winter's Springtime: A Modern English Translation (Amsterdam UP, 2024) as well as multiple articles, reviews, dictionary entries, and chapters concerning French sixteenth-century literature.
Recipient of the 2003 Rita Deanin Abbey Teacher of the Year Award, Harp serves as chair of the UNLV Department of World Languages & Cultures. She also currently serves as president of the Rocky Mountain Medieval and Renaissance Association.
