Dr. Jung-Hwa Kim (Landscape Architecture) and senior Landscape Architecture student Jacel Zeres Avila received recognition at the 2025 Reno Historic Preservation Awards on May 8, 2025. Their historical documentation of the Cochran Ditch in Reno, NV, created in collaboration with Nevada HALS Liaison Amanda Rookey and Co-Liaison Melinda Gustin, earned the Historical Project distinction from the City of Reno Historical Resources Commission. The project also received second place in the 2024 Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS) Challenge.
