Supervisors are invited to attend an interactive workshop focused on effective onboarding practices for new employees. The session is designed for supervisors who oversee full-time positions, including Administrative Faculty, Academic Faculty, Postdoctoral Scholars, and Classified Staff. Supervisors of other position types are also welcome and may adapt the strategies discussed to meet their teams’ needs.
Participants will explore the critical role supervisors play in welcoming and integrating new employees into the organization. The workshop will highlight why onboarding matters and how supervisor actions influence employee engagement and retention. Through discussion, best practices, and hands-on tools, supervisors will learn how to communicate clearly, set expectations, and support new team members from day one.
The session will also introduce onboarding resources and provide opportunities for reflection on feedback and identification of meaningful improvements within individual units.
