Supervisors are invited to participate in an interactive workshop focused on building effective onboarding experiences for new employees. The session is designed for supervisors of full-time employees, including administrative faculty, academic faculty, postdoctoral scholars and classified staff. Supervisors of other position types are also welcome to attend and apply the strategies to their teams.
Participants will explore the supervisor’s role in helping new employees feel welcomed, connected and prepared for success. The workshop will cover onboarding best practices, effective communication, setting clear expectations and ways to support employees during their first days and weeks on the job. Supervisors will also learn about available onboarding resources and identify opportunities to strengthen onboarding within their own units. See details below.
