UNLV will conduct a geothermal feasibility study near the System Computing Services (SCS) building from July 13 - August 14. The study will include drilling boreholes, installing a geothermal loop (underground pipes and pump), and testing the viability of the geothermal system powering the SCS building.
Work will take place between 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., daily. During this time, please be aware of the following impacts:
- Pedestrian pathways on the west side of SCS will be closed.
- Approximately eight parking spaces in Lot I will be blocked off.
- The work area will be fenced off.
- Elevated noise and dust are expected in the area while drilling takes place.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we explore opportunities to enhance renewable energy on campus.
