Stay prepared and promote workplace safety by attending an upcoming training session on Defensive Driving or Chemical Hygiene Awareness.
Defensive Driving Training
Defensive Driving training is required for all UNLV employees or permissive users who operate a state vehicle for the benefit of or on behalf of NSHE. The requirement includes completing an initial 4-hour course (in-person or online) within the first year of employment, followed by an online referesher course every four years.
The online 4-hour course is available at any time. See below for details about the in-person training.

Chemical Hygiene Awareness Training
The course will cover hazardous chemicals in the lab, their physical and health risks, and measures employees can take to protect themselves.

How to Register:
- Visit the Online Safety Training Systems webpage.
- Click CHIMERA Safety Training.
- Log in to CHIMERA using your ACE ID.
- Click Your Modules in the left panel. (If panel is collapsed, the button may appear to be a square made up for four smaller squares).
- Click "Safety Training Module"
- Click "Learning Hub"
- Click "Available Learning Tracks"
- Using the search bar, search "Chemical Hygiene Awareness Training" or "Defensive Driving Training"
- Click "Start Training"
- Click "View Sessions"
- Select a session, click "Enroll"
- Read the session notes, click "Yes, enroll me"
