Please review the guidelines below for student employment during Summer 2026:

Eligibility Requirements

To maintain student employment status over Summer 2026, students must be:

  • Degree-seeking
  • Enrolled in Spring 2026
  • Enrolled in at least one Summer 2026 credit hour or enrolled for Fall 2026 by May 31

For students who currently have a May 31 end employment date and meet the eligibility requirements above, process an Edit Job > Adjust End Date, extending the date to the anticipated graduation date.

If a student employee is not enrolled for fall term by May 31 or taking summer classes, they may be changed to temporary hourly employment until they regain student status.

If a student is graduating in mid-May, they can remain a student employee through May 31. Then, a job change may be submitted effective June 1 to a temporary hourly employee, if needed.

Job Changes to Temporary Hourly

For all job changes from student to temporary hourly, please attach the signed Temporary Hourly Employee Information Sheet. For additional details, visit the Temporary Hourly website.

Summer Work Hours

Student employees may work up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week (across all jobs) during the summer.
