Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to begin my service as Executive Vice President and Provost at UNLV. In my conversations with faculty, staff, students, and community members, I have already felt a sincere collaborative spirit and strong commitment to take UNLV to greater heights.

UNLV continues to make meaningful progress in support of student and faculty success, research excellence, and community engagement. I am grateful for the warm welcome that my team, Gabriela (Gaby) Cisneros and Sashidhar (Sashi) Chintalapati, and I have received. Gaby will serve as our Chief of Staff, and will facilitate collaboration and collective engagement across Academic Affairs. Sashi will serve as our Director of Academic Operations and will ensure data-informed operational efficiencies in support of university priorities. Together, we look forward to working with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to support the university’s mission and goals.

In the coming months, one of my highest priorities will be listening and learning. Together with members of the provost’s leadership team, we will be conducting a series of listening tours across our colleges, departments, and administrative units. These conversations will provide an opportunity to better understand our opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible and gaining a deeper understanding of the important work taking place throughout our campus.

I sincerely believe UNLV has a strong foundation and significant opportunities ahead. By working together and building on the progress already underway, we can continue to strengthen our impact in the region, state, and the nation.

Thank you for all that you do on behalf of our students, our university, and the communities we serve. I look forward to working with you and learning from you in the months ahead.

Warm regards,

Lakshmi N. Reddi, Ph.D.
UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost
