LAS VEGAS – Registration is now open for the 19th International Conference on Gambling & Risk Taking, which will return to Las Vegas, May 26-28 at Bellagio Resort & Casino. Hosted by UNLV International Gaming Institute (IGI), the event will explore the most pressing and emerging issues in gambling and gaming.

"The International Conference on Gambling & Risk Taking is more than just a conference,” said Dr. Brett Abarbanel, executive director of IGI.” It’s the intellectual heartbeat of the global gambling field. It convenes the thinkers and decision-makers who shape the field and push the boundaries of the gambling industry. Attendees will be joined by experts in government, academia, gambling and gaming, technology, and more to discuss the many ways risk-taking continues to grow into an ever-more important part of daily life.”

Held every three years, the conference hosts the best, most high-impact risk-taking research and education. The most recent conference, held in 2023, attracted several hundred attendees from more than two dozen countries and featured research spanning economics, public policy, mathematics, social sciences, and psychology.

Founded in 1974 at the University of Nevada, Reno by Dr. Bill Eadington – an early pioneer and foundational figure in modern gambling research – the conference has grown into the largest, longest-running, and most respected gathering of its kind. For five decades, it has remained at the forefront of the field by continuously evolving with new content in research, technologies, and policy challenges.

Conference registration rates are:

  • Early Bird registration (Ends April 18, 2026): $850
