Dec. 15, 2025

As the calendar year comes to a close, I want to inform you of an important update to the performance review cycle. Beginning in January 2026, all administrative faculty not housed within an academic area will transition from a calendar-year review cycle to one that aligns with the university’s fiscal year. This includes administrative faculty in:

  • Business Affairs
  • Division of Integrated Marketing and Branding
  • Division of Research
  • General Counsel
  • Human Resources
  • Office of the President
  • Office of Executive Vice President and Provost
  • Office of Economic Development
  • Office of Government and Community Engagement
  • Office of Information Technology
  • Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement
  • Student Affairs
  • University Police Department

Please note: this list is not exhaustive. Check with your supervisor if you are unsure if this change applies to you.

We anticipate that this improved alignment will support more effective goal development and project assignments for the coming academic year. Please see below for details.

New Annual Performance Review Cycle

  • Evaluation assigned: July 1
  • Evaluation due: September 1

Transition Plan for Administrative Faculty with an "Unsatisfactory" Rating

Administrative faculty members who received an “unsatisfactory” rating in their most recent review will complete two performance evaluations during the upcoming year to support progress and development:

  • First evaluation:
    • Assigned: January 1
    • Due:  March 1
  • Second evaluation
    • Assigned: July 1
    • Due: September 1

Administrative Faculty in Academic Units

Administrative faculty housed within academic units will remain on a calendar-year performance review cycle:

  • Evaluation assigned: January 1
  • Evaluation due: March 1

Human Resources will host training sessions to support this transition. Each session will include time for questions and answers. Watch for information about spring and fall 2026 training dates in UNLV Today.
