In 2022, UNLV began a comprehensive classification and compensation review of most administrative faculty positions. The project, called Rebel Future, aimed to create a more consistent and transparent approach to classifying similar positions across the university (e.g., business analysts, communications roles, etc.). It included multiple phases, spanned four years, and required feedback from many managers, supervisors, and employees. Thank you to everyone who partnered with us throughout this process.

As a result of this monumental effort, we are pleased to announce that on July 1, Human Resources will launch the new Rebel Job Framework. The Framework aligns administrative faculty positions to a:

  • Standardized rebel title - Official HR classification title that may differ from business or working titles
  • Career stream - Identifies whether the position is a professional contributor or manager / leader
  • Career level - Levels based on scope and complexity of the role

Once live, the Rebel Job Framework will be used as the foundation for how administrative faculty positions are classified moving forward. To assist campus with this transition, Human Resources will host informational sessions in June and July. The sessions will provide an overview of the Framework, explain how positions were mapped, review available resources, and answer questions. Visit the Rebel Job Framework webpage for more information and a list of available training sessions.

Please note that compensation structure is a future phase of the project. Implementation of the Rebel Job Framework will not result in automatic salary adjustments.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we strive to attract and retain the best talent. If you have any questions, please contact rebelfuture@unlv.edu
