What is the Board of Regents?
Nevada's Board of Regents (BOR) governs the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). NSHE oversees eight higher education institutions across the state, including UNLV. The Regents guide the budget process for the entire state higher education system AND even adopt, amend, or repeal policies that impact your daily life as a student. The Regents are also responsible for guiding the System's strategic investments, tuition and fee rates, as well as the degrees that can be offered by our public higher education institutions.
Five Regent districts are up for election this year.
Including three Las Vegas-based districts (Districts 2, 3, and 5). One eastern Nevada district with some of Centennial Hills area (District 8), and a district encompassing our sister institution the University of Nevada, Reno (District 10) are also up for election. You can find which district you reside in by utilizing the Who's My Legislator tool.
