The Addictions interdisciplinary Research Development Area (iRDA) brings together researchers across UNLV to foster interdisciplinary, translational addictions research that can improve public health.

Following their inaugural Fall kickoff meeting earlier this month, a new round of the Seed Grant Program has been announced.

This program will award three or four seed grants of up to $3,000 each to support new collaborations or small research projects leading to presentations, publications, studies, and future grant applications. 

Find the full eligibility and application details below. Submit your application by Nov. 20, 2026. Peer reviews will follow, with recipients announced by the end of December.

Eligibility & requirements:

  • Teams must include members from at least two disciplines.
  • The PI must be a faculty member.
  • Projects must align with the Addictions iRDA mission to advance interdisciplinary research.

The application includes:

  • Project title and team members
  • CVs for all team members
  • Abstract (≤250 words)
  • Fit with Addictions iRDA mission (2-3 sentences)
  • Budget and justification (up to $3,000; allowable expenses only; must be spent by June 30, 2027)
