Congratulations to UNLV alumna and celebrated Mexican-American Soprano Cecilia “Ceci” Violetta López ('11, Music) who was named general director and CEO of Opera Las Vegas effective July 1, 2025. López returns to Southern Nevada as only the fifth general director in the company’s 27-year history.

López has been named one of opera’s “25 Rising Stars” by Opera News. She received the College of Fine Arts Alumna of the Year award in 2023.
