Our interdisciplinary research initiative, iRDA – Sustainability in Arid Lands, with aims to advance sustainability in arid lands through environmental resilience, resource management, climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, community engagement, and policy development, is now officially up and running. As part of this collaborative cluster, Professor Steffen Lehmann is leading the research theme Desert City Urbanization. The work focuses on the rapid growth of desert cities and the development of appropriate climate-responsive urbanization models tailored to arid environments.
