Camelot Drug, Lomita, CA (2008) - 35mm photo from Shahab Zargari archives
The UNLV Donna Beam Gallery invites artists to participate in Camelot, a special exhibition celebrating Jerry Schefcik and his years of dedicated service to the gallery and the art community. It’s generally known that Schefcik has a collection of camel figurines numbering close to a thousand. Inspired by this treasured collection, artists are invited to create a work that responds to the theme, Camelot, in whatever manner you choose: through humor, memory, symbolism, representation, imagination, personal interpretation. RSVP using this Google Form.
Works will be the feature exhibition of the gallery’s 2026-27 season. There are no restrictions on medium or size. Artwork needs to be delivered to the gallery by September 25, 4pm with a soft opening planned for October 2. The reception will be the evening of Art Walk, October 23, 2026. Exhibition dates are October 2 to November 5, 2026.
As added incentive, a $1000 purchase prize will be awarded to one work, which will be added to the gallery’s collection.
We look forward to celebrating Jerry's enduring contributions through an exhibition that touches on the sense of community he has encouraged over the years.
