Human Resources is offering virtual training sessions to help department representatives comply with the university’s new background screening policies which will go into effect on Sept. 1.

A self-paced, on-demand training course on initiating background screenings is also available.
Visit the University Policies webpage to read the full policies for faculty and classified staff as well as the Required Disclosure of Felony Charges. The requirements apply to new employees and current employees transitioning to a new position within the university. Screening procedures vary by employee type. Additional details are available on the Background Screening webpage.

- Academic and administrative faculty, classified staff, and post-doctoral scholars
- Part-time instructors
- Individuals in other employment classifications, (e.g., letter of appointment, graduate assistants, temporary hourly, student workers) may also be subject to background screening requirements due to specific regulatory requirements for their position. Those individuals should also contact Temporary Employment & HCM Support for guidance.
