The state's investment in the UNLV School of Medicine is paying dividends. The school earned full accreditation in February. Its first class of physicians will graduate in May. Its faculty and students are actively helping to end the pandemic through testing and vaccination sites. Its 135,000-square-foot Medical Education Building is under construction and will open in 2022. Plus, the school is delivering patient care now to Nevadans at 14 specialty clinics. In its first four years, UNLV Medicine has delivered more than 5,000 babies, performed 52,000 surgeries, and made more than 180,000 hospital visits. We're feeling better already. The UNLV School of Medicine is doing its part to heal the economy by generating an estimated 8,000 new jobs and creating an economic impact of $1.2 billion by 2030.
