Professor McManus (Ph.D., The Pennsylvania State University) researches how people exchange social support and information when managing uncertainty and stress, especially among family and friends during emerging adulthood. Her work has appeared in national and regional journals including Human Communication Research, Communication Quarterly, and Western Journal of Communication. I teach classes on human communication theory, quantitative methods, and personal relationships.
