Biography

Dr. Stacy Graves is a recent alum of the UNLV Clinical Psychology Doctoral program and is now in her fourth year of The PRACTICE Clinic, returning from her clinical internship to complete her postdoctoral fellowship under Dr. Noelle Lefforge. She has a passion for treating patients with severe mental illness and personality disorders through evidence-based psychotherapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UNLV in January 2021 and is currently the Postdoctoral Fellow for the Adult Group program at The PRACTICE. In her current role, Dr. Graves is responsible for leading facilitation of all adult skills group at The PRACTICE Clinic and supervises clinical psychology doctoral students and clinic mental health masters students to support their development as group facilitators. Dr. Graves is primarily focused on treatment of severe mental illness though group psychotherapy and has an interest in program development in healthcare systems.  She primarily works from a client-centered, integrative approach, conceptualizing from a psychodynamic and interpersonal perspective with ACT and DBT skills integration. In addition to her clinical interests, her research  investigates the validity and diagnostic utility of ADHD symptom rating scales in the assessment of children and adults. Serving as the Nevada Psychological Association campus representative, she has been an advocate for local, state and national legislative reform to increase access to mental health services in underserved populations. Dr. Graves is from the Northern Virginia/ D.C. metro area and received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Virginia Tech in 2011.
