Assistant professor Linh Nguyen joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine in 2017 and teaches microbiology within the Biomedical Sciences program.

Dr. Nguyen was an infectious disease epidemiologist for the Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas, Nevada, where her work focused on outbreak investigation and prevention, microbial studies that are important to public health, and laboratory surveillance for emerging pathogens. She also taught microbiology, public health, and laboratory sciences to UNLV undergraduates.

Dr. Nguyen earned her M.P.H. in Community Health Education from University of Minnesota, and Ph.D. in Microbiology from UNLV. She is interested in research and teaching projects that promote the association between oral health and the health of the community.
