Kenyon Lee Whitman, Ph.D., is a scholar-practitioner. He has over ten years of experience working in higher education. He directed the Office of Foster Youth Support Services/Guardian Scholars Program at the University of California Riverside for six years. He received his Ph.D. in higher education administration and policy at UC Riverside. He was a UC Chancellor's Postdoctoral Scholar at UCLA.

Whitman's research is interdisciplinary, utilizing community-engaged and critical research methods. He focuses on underrepresented students in higher education, specifically, the racialized college-going experiences of foster youth. As a former foster youth, he understands first-hand the challenges they face as they work toward earning a college degree. Dr. Whitman also has a B.S. and M.A. from Fresno State.
