Ed Rangel joined UNLV School of Dental Medicine as an urgent care clinic supervisor in 2004 and earned a promotion to health and safety and OSHA infection control manager in 2007. In this role, he is responsible for ensuring the school’s compliance with OSHA and state regulations, and maintaining an above- average record of safety.

He conducts regular inspections of each treatment clinic to maintain records for accreditation, serves as the school’s liaison to the university’s Risk Management department and Student Wellness Center for incident reports, and manages the completion of those reports for students, residents, staff, and faculty.

He also coordinates TB tests and vaccinations for all students and personnel, and serves as an advisor to the pre-dental society, for which he helps encourage membership and organizes dental-related courses and community service events.
