Dean Balan is the ballet class pianist for the UNLV Department of Dance and Nevada Ballet Theatre. An active collaborative pianist, he is also the music director and conductor for Sin City Opera, accompanist for the Desert Winds orchestra, and music director at his church.

Dean’s life as a working musician began at age 13 as a keyboardist in the Las Vegas’s Super Summer Theater series. Since then, he has been involved with numerous projects, including Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular and the pilot premiere of Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical (Associate Conductor). In addition to his theatre work, he has an extensive background in choral, barbershop, and contemporary a cappella music, and also founded the Las Vegas Accompanists directory.
