Biography
David F. Damore is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he serves as Department Chair, and a Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Brookings Institution’s Governance Study Program. An expert in electoral politics and applied public policy, Dr. Damore has published dozens of policy briefs, book chapters, and journal articles and he has written extensively on Nevada politics and policy. Dr. Damore is coauthor of two recently published books, Blue Metros, Red States: The Shifting Urban/Rural Divide in America’s Swing States, with Robert E, Lang and Karen A. Danielsen, and Latinos in Nevada, with John P. Tuman, Tiffiany O. Howard, and Nerses Kopalyan. Dr. Damore regularly comments on Nevada politics for local, national, and international media outlets and his commentary and analysis has been published by The Brookings Institution’s FixGov Blog, The Cook Political Report, HuffPost, Politico Magazine, and Monkey Cage. Since their inception, Dr. Damore has been actively engaged with the work of Brookings Mountain West and The Lincy Institute. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, his M.A. from the University of Georgia, and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego, all in Political Science
