Danelis Acosta Orduna commenced her career with UNLV in the Office of Government and Community Engagement in April 2023, as the Engagement Event Coordinator. She will serve as a liaison between UNLV and the community helping to plan, facilitate, and promote the Office’s on-campus events and ensuring UNLV has representation out in the community.  

Acosta Orduna graduated from UNLV in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Additionally, she came back to UNLV to obtain her Master of Arts in Urban Leadership in 2021. Through her studies and experience, Acosta Orduna has involved herself fully in the Las Vegas community where she gained the knowledge and expertise needed to connect UNLV in meaningful ways.

Acosta Orduna's experience includes six-plus years working in the non-profit sector, serving as a case manager, program manager, development coordinator, and community engagement liaison. Through these roles, Acosta Orduna was able to work with Las Vegas’ underserved communities and help connect them to community resources. Her work also included organizing community events designed to meet the needs of some of our most vulnerable community members. Additionally, Acosta Orduna worked for four years in Events Services at the Venetian Expo, serving international clients participating in tradeshows.
