Description

First course in programming for non-programmers aimed at developing a proficiency in designing and writing programs using a high-level programming language. Topics include standard programming constructs (conditionals, loops, etc.), concept of an algorithm, and fundamental data types (numbers, strings, arrays, etc.).

Admiss to MIS or Data Analytics and Applied Economics or consent of the Director

In addition to the materials listed on the bookstore webpage, this course requires a Mac or PC computer, a webcam, a microphone, and Internet connection for successfully completing this class. The webcam and microphone may be built into your computer or may be an external camera and microphone. The course may also use the LockDown Browser with Monitor for online exams. While there is no cost to you to use the software, you are required to have a webcam. Chromebooks are not compatible for this class.In addition to the materials listed on the bookstore webpage, this course requires a Harvard Case Packet that costs about $20.This is an Internet class; refer to Canvas instructions at https://unlv.instructure.com.Summer Term registration policies are not the same as Spring and Fall.
