First responder training exercises on April 23 (777 E. Harmon Ave.)
UNLV owns a property at 777 E. Harmon Avenue, west of the Facilities Management Administration (FMA) building, and south of the Paul McDermott Physical Education Complex (MPE) that will be demolished in May/June 2024. Prior to demolition, UNLV is partnering with several first-responder agencies to provide real-world training opportunities at this property for their staff.
Please be advised that training exercise will take place on April 23 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the property. During this time you can expect to see emergency response vehicles and first responders entering and exiting the building and participating in training exercises. Signage will be placed in front of the building while training takes place.
We expect that additional training activities will occur in the future and will notify campus beforehand.
Please refrain from visiting the area, if possible, while training is taking place as the sights and sounds may cause emotional discomfort for some. Mental health and counseling resources are available for individuals who experience any distress.
If you have questions, contact Planning & Construction Project Manager Brian Heimerl.
Thank you for your cooperation.
