If you have considered presenting your research or creative work at an academic conference, this is the perfect opportunity!

The Honors College is now accepting proposals for the 2024 Western Regional Honors Council (WRHC) Conference hosted by California State University, Long Beach from March 29-30, 2024. The theme for this year's conference is Beyond the Breaking Point: Searching for Buoyancy.

As a student-focused academic conference, the 2024 WRHC Conference provides a unique platform for you to engage in idea-sharing with honors peers and faculty from universities throughout the west. You will also have opportunities to explore CSULB and the surrounding area, connect with like-minded people, and enjoy keynote speaker Dr. Jennifer Abod.

NOTE: This will be an in-person conference. Travel arrangements will be made by the Honors College for students with accepted proposals.

How to Submit a Proposal

Interested students must email an abstract (<250 words) of their proposed presentation to Dr. Dan Bubb (dan.bubb@unlv.edu) by Monday, Dec. 4 at 5:00 p.m. The Honors College's WRHC committee will then evaluate the proposals and help students with the strongest submissions apply to the conference.

WRHC hosts student presentations in the following formats:

  • Poster Presentation about your research/creative work
  • Research Talks (15 minutes)
  • Workshop-style presentations on topics relevant to academic and social engagement in Honors Colleges

Please note that the Dec. 4 deadline with Dr. Bubb supersedes the deadline posted on the WRHC website.

Dr. Bubb invites students with questions to contact him ASAP.
