UNLV is partnering with Van Scoyoc Associates (VSA) to implement changes to the process for appropriations requests, including the requirement to provide at least one month's notice for letters of support from the Nevada Delegation and to attend a mandatory training before submitting a request for funding.

To this end, the Office of Government and Community Engagement has hosted training sessions conducted by VSA for faculty and staff who wish to submit appropriations request in Fiscal Year 2025. This training equips faculty and staff with essential knowledge and procedures to enable them to successfully navigate the process, strengthen their proposals, and increase funding potential. Proposals which have support from more than one college and/or unit will receive priority, as evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration is emphasized.

The goal of this training is to increase the likelihood of securing funding for vital research and scholarly activities through a more structured and informed approach.
