The Office of General Curriculum Access is seeking a graduate assistant for the Spring 2024 semester with a possibility of an extension extended through the summer. The position will be approximately 20 hours/week.

Position Description

Activities for the GA position include:

  • Designing and developing curriculum (e.g., ELA, Math, and Science) for students with extensive support needs that align with the Nevada Alternative Diploma and Nevada Alternate Assessment
  • Organizing state professional development activities
  • Collaborating with Nevada teachers
  • Creating media assets for teaching and learning, including graphics for adapted books, audio recordings, and video tutorials

Position Requirements

  • Graduate student in good standing at UNLV
  • Experience working with curriculum development in the areas of reading, math, and science are preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

The graduate assistantship will provide:

  • Paid tuition (up to nine credits per semester)
  • A monthly stipend totaling $8,500 for the semester
  • Research and writing opportunities
