ORI-HS wishes to inform the UNLV research community of upcoming planned changes to the Initial Submission form in Cayuse.

These changes are designed to streamline the submission experience, keep the submission form relevant to specific types of research, and to better collect the information required to conduct IRB review. The changes are intended to assist in collecting complete information from researchers during the initial submission process, so that fewer rounds of revisions will be needed.

These changes will be implemented in late April or early May. ORI-HS will provide notice to researchers when the changes have been implemented. ORI-HS will also offer training sessions and resources to researchers on how to navigate and complete the new initial submission form.

ORI-HS encourages researchers to watch out for announcements relating to these changes and the accompanying training sessions and resources. A great way to stay in touch with ORI-HS is to enroll in the ORI: UNLV IRB and Human Research Protection Program WebCampus resource center.

This resource center is a WebCampus organization, which anyone at UNLV can self-enroll into, allowing access to information and resources, such as webinar recordings, guidance documents, and important announcements.

To self-enroll in the WebCampus organization, first follow the self-enrollment link.

After clicking the link, users will be prompted to click the “Enroll in Course” button. Once that is complete, users can click the “Go to Course” button to be taken directly to the resource center immediately.

In the future, the resource center can be found on a user’s individual WebCampus dashboard, which is visible to users upon logging into WebCampus. The name of the resource center in WebCampus is ORI: UNLV IRB and Human Research Protection Program. Click on that “course” on the dashboard to be taken to the resource center.
