The city of Las Vegas honored exceptional urban design through the Mayor’s Urban Design Awards (MUDA) at the 2024 Mayor’s Symposium on Urban Design Tuesday, March 5, at the Historic Fifth Street School. Mike Del Gatto, Principal and Vice President of Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects, is a UNLV Architecture alumnus. His firm received two awards, and UNLV Art instructor Iandry Randriamandroso received one.
 


The awards recognize projects that foster the city’s commitment to sustainability and livability.

  • Buildings and Environment – The Beverly Theater, 515 S. Sixth St., designed by Carpenter Seller Del Gatto Architects;
  • Historic Preservation & Adaptive Reuse - The Carousel Bar, 1 S. Main St., designed by The Plaza Hotel Design Team;
  • Historic Preservation – The Golden Steer restaurant, 308 W. Sahara Ave., designed by Carpenter Seller Del Gatto Architects;
  • Adaptive Reuse - The Bent Inn & Pub, 1100 E. Ogden Ave, designed by SPARC Design;
  • Public Art – “We, Westside,” a mural at 500 Jefferson Ave., created by Iandry Randriamandroso; and
  • Public Places – Obodo Urban Farm, 1300 C St., designed by The Obodo Collective.
