Roger Corman, who has been honored with an Academy Award and is the executive producer of the UNLV Film co-curricular project "Stealing Las Vegas," presented the Grand Prix award during the closing ceremony of the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 27, 2023.

Corman, born on April 5, 1926, is a renowned American film director, producer, and actor. He is often referred to as "The Pope of Pop Cinema", "The Spiritual Godfather of the New Hollywood", “The King of Cult”, and is recognized for his significant contributions to the field of independent film.
