About Jenna:

Jenna Heath received her M.Ed. from UNLV in December 2016 and Bachelor of   Arts in Communication and Political Science from San Diego State  University (SDSU) in 2013. After graduating she  worked in the Office of the President at SDSU then moved to Las Vegas to pursue her Masters. She has  served as an Admission Counselor, Assistant Director of Career & Professional Development and currently as the Director of Student & Community Engagement for the College of Liberal Arts at UNLV. She teaches a variety of classes at UNLV and other universities surrounding workforce development. Her research interests include professional and career development in curriculum at the university level and recently published an article in regards to the power of remote internships during COVID-19.

At UNLV, Jenna serves tirelessly on many committees. Her dedication and belief in shared governance is shown in many capacities included but not limited to: Co-Chairing the original iteration of the Peer Mentor working group, working with all undergraduate serving colleges at UNLV to advance the mission of mentoring programs. Previously served as Chair of the first university wide first generation student celebration kick off event in 2021.  Currently serving as Sub-Committee Chair of the UNLV Values committee. Currently serving on the Senior Vice Provosts internship committee to collect and analyze information to help support workforce development efforts at UNLV.

In 2020 she launched the Faculty Development- Career Readiness Program which has since been taken over by The Faculty Center to assist academic faculty in teaching career readiness in their classroom. This was an important initiative to help work with faculty to advance the Top Tier 2.0 mission.
Being chosen as the 2020 Top Tier Award Winner is one of the highlights of Jenna’s career and truly encompasses who she is as a professional. During arguably one of the most challenging parts of her career, she was selected as the professional who contributed exponentially to the mission of UNLV. Anyone that knows Jenna would say she’s dedicated to the success of our students, cares deeply about her colleagues, and works endlessly to ensure that UNLV continues to progress and move forward.
