  • My Degree at Work - Nathan Rowe

Even though he grew up near Reno, Rowe wanted a fresh start and the challenge of a new environment, so he came to UNLV. He discusses why math seems so daunting, the importance of taking a computer science class, and how UNLV helped round out his rough edges.

  • Getting to Know Sciences

Have you ever wondered why a student is studying biology or mathematics? Curious about what type of research is happening here? Or have you ever thought about what career options there are for someone who has a degree from the College of Sciences? Those questions and more are answered as you get to know some of our best and brightest.

  • Math Tutoring Clinic

The Department of Mathematical Sciences tutoring clinic is a free service for students enrolled in 11 different mathematics courses. No appointment is necessary. Stop by and get help with your questions.

  • Collaborating for a Cause

A math and a law grad team up to study the legal services available to Southern Nevada's Hispanic community.

  • Math Placement Test

The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers placement testing designed to provide information about the academic skills of students entering mathematics courses at UNLV. The primary function of the placement test is to help determine if a student is prepared for a college-level mathematics course, or if the student would benefit from a developmental course.
