About Earvin “Magic” Johnson
Earvin “Magic” Johnson is a two-time NBA Hall of Famer, philanthropist, and motivational speaker who founded and serves as chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE). MJE provides products and services that focus primarily on ethnically diverse and underserved urban communities.

A longtime commanding presence in popular culture, Johnson made history in 2012 when he became co-owner of MLB’s Los Angeles Dodgers. He also co-owns the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club, and eSports franchise Team Liquid.

The entrepreneur’s many businesses include EquiTrust Life Insurance Company; ASPiRE, an African-American television network; and SodexoMAGIC, a food service and facilities management company. He is among the leading investors in a number of minority-owned technology companies, and he’s also investing millions of dollars on infrastructure improvement in the United States.

Johnson’s philanthropic work includes the Magic Johnson Foundation — founded in 1991 to build programs addressing HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, and effective treatments regardless of patients’ ability to pay. The foundation also runs the Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program, which provides hundreds of students from underserved communities with funds to attend college.
