    Many Science and Engineering Building laboratories are designed with a “dance floor” configuration, providing researchers opportunity for interaction and facilitating their access to highly specialized equipment.

    Energy-Saving Features

    The Science and Engineering Building contains a number of cost- and energy-saving features, such as occupancy and ambient sensor controls that are used to automatically turn off lights in unoccupied rooms.

    Research Themes

    Integrative physiology is one of several research themes housed in the Science and Engineering Building. Researchers in this area study how animals interact with their environment, from the level of individual genes to entire ecosystems.

Welcome

The new Science and Engineering Building (SEB) creates a unique environment for interdisciplinary research and education on the UNLV campus. The building’s innovative design supports collaboration among faculty in the sciences, engineering, health sciences, and other university research units. It also provides faculty and students expanded opportunity to participate in highly sophisticated research using some of the most technologically advanced equipment available.
