Today's Gratitude: Anabel Chavva, Heather Richardson, Erick Ochoa

I want to recognize my entire staff team for their compassion and support for one another. During the tragedy, I sheltered in place in [HOPE Scholars Program coordinator] Anabel Chavva's office in the Student Union. After we evacuated, my colleagues were quick to find one another to check in, offer hugs, and kind words. [Fostering Scholars Program coordinator] Heather Richardson let me use her phone even while she was trying to contact her loved ones. [Service Program coordinator] Erick Ochoa offered rides after the evacuation so we could all get home safely, even though it meant he was in traffic for hours. The rest of my team continued to check in, share resources, and offer words of support the weeks following. I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of them, for even the small acts of kindness have had a large impact.
