We are pleased to announce that the UNLV Jewish Faculty and Staff Group (JFS-UNLV) has been formally recognized by President Whitfield and the Division of Diversity Initiatives as an “Affinity Group.”  

The UNLV Jewish Faculty and Staff Group (JFS-UNLV) is dedicated to establishing a supportive community for faculty and staff across our diverse campus who identify with Jewish culture, peoplehood, religion, and heritage. Our mission is to create an environment where experiences are shared, concerns are addressed, and identities as Jewish people are further developed. Through community-building initiatives, we aim to contribute to the study and sharing of the Jewish experience, foster connections, and cultivate a sense of belonging within the vibrant tapestry of UNLV's community. Whatever the faiths you have known or the paths you have traveled, if you identify as Jewish, you are welcome here.

We are currently working with the Diversity Office and Hillel, among other student groups. We look forward to contributing our important voices to the university’s  discussions of diversity and inclusion and to contributing to a greater visibility for, awareness of, and knowledge about Jewish cultures, identities and peoplehood across history and in the present moment, globally, in the United States and at UNLV.
