Care Advocate Training Institute Applications Are Open!

Applications opened April 5 for the Care Advocate Training Institute Summer 2024!

Our paid Care Advocate Training Institute is a comprehensive program with online education and in-field experience. Each cohort participates in a wide range of supervised professional activities within a major campus-based advocacy center and prepares students for the role of the confidential campus advocate.

Applications currently do not have a due date and interviews begin May 20th to June 30th.

The Care Advocates is a departmentally sponsored, volunteer student organization that adheres to a trauma-informed, healing-centered approach to power-based violence and sexual violence prevention. They are trained to offer confidential peer support, hold space, ensure personal safety, and educate the community.

This training and internship opportunity is perfect for students pursuing careers in human services, Social Work/Public Health, Counseling/Clinical Professions, or Advocacy/Activism.

Training occurs in Summer 2024 with a one-year commitment. Apply via our website or email carecenter@unlv.edu for any inquiries!
