Namesakes: The Learning Garden

Marge and Bill Speer’s love and dedication to each other and the university has been commemorated in what once was their favorite spot on campus.

Marge Speer championed the idea of turning the disheveled remnants of the preschool playground on the west side of the Carlson Education Building into a xeriscape garden. The space is now memorializd in Marge's honor after she passed away suddenly in 2015.
