Music Minors

As a music minor, you will have the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge with courses in music literature, theory, and areas of performance, regardless of your major.

Music (23 credits)

The minor in music provides a basic curriculum of music theory and history, while helping to develop your performance skills. The music minor includes:

  • MUS 201E, 201F, 202E, 202F, 341, 342, and 343
  • Two semesters of applied music (two credits each)
  • One three-credit upper-division elective
  • One semester of ensemble participation

Music Technology (24 credits)

The music technology minor provides you with the knowledge to use modern technology to record music for different media platforms such as CD/DVD, video, and the Internet. The music technology minor includes:

  • MUS 139, 231E, 231F, 232E, 232F, 239, 319, 320, 321, and 433
