UNLV offers both a graduate certificate and a minor in solar and renewable energy. Both programs aim to improve the overall effectiveness of the solar and renewable energy sector in Nevada and the Western U.S.

Solar and Renewable Energy Minor

UNLV offers an interdisciplinary minor in solar and renewable energy, providing you with the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in this field. The minor offers two tracks to undergraduate students: engineering and science and policy. Students must apply at least two semesters prior to graduation and must be approved by the program coordinator.

Solar and Renewable Energy Graduate Certificate

The Solar and Renewable Energy Graduate Certificate provides a specialized qualification for those with a bachelor’s degree seeking entry into the renewable energy field, career professionals in the energy industry, professionals from other fields, or currently enrolled graduate students seeking an additional specialization.

RENEW 17 Scholarship

The competitively-awarded RENEW17 scholarship is for new UNLV students who are graduates of U.S. high schools. enrolling in the Solar and Renewable Energy Minor, and pursuing degrees that support the renewable energy sector. This is made possible through a generous donation from NV Energy. Awarded scholarships will range in annual amounts from $1,000 to $4,000 in increments of $500, depending on need and other scholarship awards.
